Cafe M is now Tee & Cakes
We would have written about this long ago if we had realized that when Cafe M closed and reopened as a new shop, it retained its tables and wireless. We were under the assumption that the idea behind Tea & Cakes didn’t include a work environment. We were wrong. Oh well.
So, where Cafe M left off, Tee & Cakes took over. T&C’s deal is being run by the locally semi-famous Kim Boos, master pastry chef. Co-located in the shop is Side B Apparel, Kim’s boyfriend’s clothing line. T&C is continuing Cafe M’s service of Boulder Organic for its coffee line. We don’t strongly disapprove, but we don’t really approve, either. Ok let’s be frank, the coffee is sub-par.
14th between Pearl and Walnut.
Cafe M goes buh-bye
Tomorrow Aug 30 is Cafe M’s last day. It’s going to reopen in a few weeks as a pastry shop.
WTF? You find a good, quiet shop and it goes under. Big loss.
cafe M
changes happened. the joint closed, then it reopened. it didn’t get bigger, but it got a lot better. better interior, decor, food and drink, etc. it’s still more a place that people get to-go schwag at the counter rather than a place that people settle into and work, but that’s good for the workers, not bad. the place stays quiet — more or less. when the garage door is open then you get street noise, but it’s not bad. the music is kind of the standard mood electronica Portishead-like track. can’t rate the coffee or food quite yet, but they’re serving Boulder Coffee. and the og smoothie i had a couple months ago was good.
It’s on 14th two houses south of the Pearl St. mall, between Walnut and Pearl.
